The Deal of a Lifetime

Matthew 6:14-21

Regardless of the fasting obedience given to you, you can fast in other ways with your entire body.
St. John Chrysostom says: The true fast is to abstain from sin. 

  • Fast with your eyes. Don’t watch anything sinful on the internet, smart-phone, television.
  • Fast with your ears. Don’t listen to gossip or slander.
  • Fast with your tongue. Don’t slander, gossip, or judge.
  • Fast with your hands. Don’t embrace evil activities.
  • Fast with your feet. Don’t visit places that arouse insurrection in your flesh.

Most importantly, forgive and you will be forgiven. That’s the deal of a lifetime.
